Wedding Video Tip #3 PDF Print E-mail

Insist on viewing an entire, real wedding video - one that this wedding videographer has recently produced.  Do not decide based on highlight clips or a demo video and insist on watching it in your own home - without the videographer present.

Why not with the videographer present?  Because they know how to distract you when a bad part is playing and because some will want to apply sales pressure.  Also, you'll watch your wedding video many times, so for a fair comparision you should watch the sample at least twice.  You'll be surprised at what you didn't notice the first time.

Why not a highlights or demo video? ..(click Continue button please)

Because anyone can piece together good shots from several weddings and put it all to a music background.  You want to know what your wedding video will look like, so you should watch an entire, real wedding video.   Also, you want to know how well this wedding videographer does capturing sound.  Many are really bad and only use one or two microphones!

Why a recent wedding video?  Some wedding videographers offer to do a free wedding once every couple of years, on the condition that the wedding party are available for video sessions for several hours before the ceremony.  During this time, they will setup and enact scenes as though they were real, to use these in their demo video.  You see, it is much harder to get good shots during a real-live wedding than to post and enact them beforehand.
